Bowl-A-Rama 2008
DAGMAR LOWE IS THE WINNER OF THE SOUTHWEST AIRLINE TICKET... CONGRATULATIONS DAGMAR!!
PACC911's Bowl-A-Rama for Animal Rescue is the biggest event of the year for New Hope Cattle Dogs Rescue. This event has proven to be a fantastic and much needed fundraiser for the animal community. This year's 6th annual Bowl-A-Rama is scheduled for August 2nd, 2008 and NHCD will be accepting pledges for the event through August 1st. The pledges are not per bowling pin (thank goodness), they are just one lump sum in support of the NHCD volunteer/bowler you wish to represent... If you prefer to pledge/donate by check, please make it payable to "NHCD" and enter "Bowl-A-Rama" on the memo line. The donation mailing address is P.O. Box 84136, Phoenix, Az. 85071.
This year, as a big THANK YOU and added incentive to help this worthy cause, NHCD has donated a Grand Prize of one roundtrip Rapids Rewards Southwest Airlines ticket to the event drawing. Each donation increment of $10 will buy you one virtual raffle ticket for the drawing. The roundtrip ticket is valid for anywhere SWA fly's and travel must be completed by May 30th, 2009. See Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards for rules and restrictions. For those who's online donations qualify for the raffle ticket, please check the box that allows NHCD to see your email address so that we can contact the winner ! Your email address will not be shared with any other organization, it will be used for prize notification only. Participants can also check NHCD website on Aug. 7th to see who the lucky winner is!
All money pledged/donated to NHCD through PACC911's Bowl-A-Rama will be used to fund much needed veterinary care. Your donations will help new dogs coming into rescue as well as fund continued medical treatment for three special dogs still in our care…….ZIP, DAYZEE DUKE and DACHS, see the brief bio of each dog below…
Zip: Zip came into rescue with a lame foot and has been in our care since 2006. During this time, we have consulted with several specialists in finding a successful treatment for this condition. His last veterinary visit was June 3rd and unfortunately, his current treatment isn’t working as well as was hoped. The veterinarian is now recommending either fusing his joint or Prolo therapy. The associated costs for these procedures are currently under investigation. Zip’s temporary treatment (just to minimize the inflammation in his foot) is $100 per month, and is not a permanent solution. His medical bills currently exceed $600 thus far. Please note also that Zip’s foster mom has a debilitating illness that causes extreme fatigue. NHCD is in need of a new long term foster home for Zip. He is a wonderful dog with special needs.
Dayzee Duke: Dayzee had a rough start in life…She came into the rescue pregnant. NHCD had x-rays ordered immediately to assist in determining her physical condition and how far into the pregnancy she was. In addition to reflecting that she was carrying 6 late term puppies, the x-ray also revealed approximately 20 shotgun pellets lodged in this sweet, young girl. She also tested positive for Heartworm. She has since given birth to the adorable pups and the treatments being administered for her other ailments seem to be working. Her next Heartworm test is July 8th, at which time we will know if the treatment worked 100%. In addition to the costs associated with caring for her and her 6 puppies, her Heartworm treatment alone cost $950.
Dachs: Dachs is one of Dayzee Duke's pups. He had to have his left eye removed due to a birth defect and the vision in his right eye is limited. He just had a follow-up eye checkup on June 4th and the specialist stated that he is responding well to the treatment being administered to his right eye. There has been no pressure changes since his last checkup and his vision has not deteriorated and further... Hooray for Dachs!!! Dachs’ medical expenses to date, exceed $1300.
New Hope Cattle Dogs Rescue would like to thank you for your past and continued support of these and many more wonderful dogs. Our dedication to this breed is only made possible through your generosity...
Please help make Bowl-A-Rama 2008 our most successful year ever!!!
