SYDNEY'S ANGEL ARMY 2006 Angel Army, Fall In!! You are being recruited!! YOU CAN STILL PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT ON THIS SITE UNTIL NOVEMBER 30! DO IT TODAY! Thanks to your support, we raised over $13,500 so far for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin!! KEEP THE MIRACLES COMING!!Our oldest daughter, Sydney Claire, was diagnosed with a severe septic infection in March of 2005 which nearly took her from us forever. E. coli entered her bloodstream causing multiple organ failure. It also caused two cardiac arrests totaling 36 minutes without a pulse. She was placed on ECMO, a specialized machine to support ailing cardiac and lung function. She suffered a small stroke, as well as massive brain damage from lack of oxygen during her arrests. She spent more than two weeks in the ICU and on dialysis. But our little fighter would not give up! Five weeks after her cardiac arrests, we took her home! Over the last 18 months, Sydney has regained all of her cognitive abilities. She has gone through intensive therapy to help regain her motor function -- grasping, standing, crawling, walking -- a program she continues four days a week. This amazing healing journey simply would not be possible without Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The phenomenal care Sydney received saved her life. The Angel Army is donning the camouflage and walking once again in the Briggs & Al's Run & Walk on September 16, 2006, to raise money in support of this home of miracles. Sydney is being honored as this year's Pledge Child! Know that 100% of your gift goes directly to the hospital, making more healing miracles possible. Though each participant pays a registration fee for the walk, after all expenses are paid, only $0.26 of the fee goes to benefit the hospital. Last year, our team raised more than $8,000 in pledges. Be part of a record-breaking year and help us blow that number away! Make a difference in the life of a child like Sydney!Donating on this website is easy to do and completely secure. We are notified when any pledge is made.Your support for our team for the 2006 Briggs & Al's Run & Walk means a lot to us. We walk because there are just not enough words of thanks for all that Children's Hospital has given us and so many other families. Please pledge your support today. Tell your friends and family to pledge. Make it possible for all children who need stellar medical care to receive it at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. To learn more about Sydney's illness and recovery, visit her Caring Bridge web site at www.caringbridge.org/wi/sydneyclaire.
