2011 Guardian Angel Basset Rescue Illinois Waddle
Meet Minny. Minny came to GABR last year and into our home to foster shortly after that. She had been grossly abused and neglected. Her hair had been shaved off and alcohol poured over her body by her then owner. She had been starved, weighing in at only 23 pounds (she should have been twice that size). She had pneumonia, countless parasites and was nothing more than skin over bones. She wagged her tail at her rescurer as if to know life was just going to get better after this. Never once in our home did she mistrust anyone. She came in full of love and left to her forever home the same way. Without GABR, Minny would have been another basset that didn't make it. She was restored to health and placed in her "forever" home. This is what GABR does.
And it's that time of year again...WADDLE TIME! On September 17-18, 2011, Guardian Angel Basset Rescue (GABR) is holding their 14th Annual Waddle. The Illinois Waddle is a weekend long celebration attended annually by over 1,000 bassets and their families. It is GABR's primary source of funding. Guardian Angel rescues, provides full veterinary care, fosters and hand selects a home for over 300 dogs each year. None of this could be done without the financial support of people like you. It's really easy to donate? Just click the donate link at the top or bottom of this page. 100% of your tax-deductible contribution will go directly to rescuing basset hounds. If you would rather send a check, please make it out to GABR & mail to: Jerry/Sharon Andrews, 2066 W. Macon St., Decatur, IL 62522. I also encourage you to forward this on to others. You will make a difference!
Enjoy the You/Tube video to see some of our former foster bassets. We will send you weekly updates on Martha and our hounds that are in training...Manfred is in charge of workouts!
