The Andrews are Waddling Again!
On Mother's Day weekend of this year, a sweet basset named Rosalyn was abandoned along with her five puppies and an adult male basset in a shelter in Indiana. When Jerry and I offered to foster both mama and the 5 week old puppies, little did we know what was in store for them less than 2 weeks later. One by one, they became critically ill with parvovirus. McTavish, Ana Lou, Beatrice and Isabelle all survived and are healthy, playful normal puppies now. Sadly. Sarah succumbed to this horrible disease after a valiant fight to survive. Her body could no longer fight off this deadly illness.
During this time, there were wonderful families praying for the puppies' survival and waiting for their arrival. If it had not been for Guardian Angel Basset Rescue and their backing and HUGE financial support, these puppies would not be in their "forever" homes today... happy and healthy.
There is so much more involved in animal rescue than just picking up unwanted animals. It involves long hours of care and financial commitments. Please consider a donation either online or you may send your donation (made out to GABR) to Jerry/Sharon Andrews, 2066 W. Macon St., Decatur, IL 62522. And please forward this on to any one that you might be interested in helping out. Any and all support is appreciated.
Beatrice, McTavish, Ana Lou, Isabelle, Mama Rosalyn and our 3 bassets will all be at this year's Waddle to help raise funds for other homeless bassets. It can't be done without your support. And 100 % of all donations goes to the bassets. No one is paid for their time. Donating will not only make you feel good, but you save a life and provide a family with an amazing lifetime companion.
