Sharon Jones Witbeck's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am proud to remind everyone that Robert Kennedy "was named one of Time magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet” for his success helping Riverkeeper lead the fight to restore the Hudson River."
After living near the Hudson for most of my life, I just recently became increasingly and intimately more aware of it's unique and significant part of US history along with the amazement of it's diverse and awesome beauty. Kayaking has helped me discover the wonderful treasures up and down the river, and some of the not so pretty garbage and illegal dumpings. My friends and I have decided to pick up as much floating junk as we can each time we go out...from beer cans, footballs, shoes to a plastic lamb planter! We have encountered otters, eagles, geese, herons, egrits and countless other creatures that strive to keep the Hudson their home.
You can check the monthly water quality in your area of the Hudson at Riverkeeper from NYC to Waterford. I am hoping to participate in a benefit swim for ALS in the Hudson next year if the toxin levels stay down. You can join the Albany Kayakers group at www.meetup.com or contact me for our latest Hudson adventures at beaner1953@aol.com.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
