I adopted my dog though Sequoia Humane Society about a year and a half ago. I also work there. When bear came into the shelter he was very scared and his littermates were not so nice to him. We had to separate them which left bear very lonley. I let bear hang out with me in the office and over time he began to become attached to me and trust me. At that point i decided that I would add him to my family. Bear has since been a great dog. He is still working on trust issues he will almost instantly love any female that comes in the house but is always weary of any male. Bear loves to play with the kids, cats, and other dogs.  If it werent for the Sequoia Humane Society being here to help out bear might not have gotten the opportunity to have a family that has been so patient with him and may have been euthenized due to his previous temperment. Many dogs like bear need the opportunity to get the help they need to be great companions. It is organizations like this one that make it possible for more dogs in our community to get the help they need.
