BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN, INC.

Dallas DuBose Memorial Fund
In memory of: Dallas DuBose

Dallas DuBose Memorial Fund

When you think of an all American boy, you probably picture someone like Dallas.  He was tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, great sense of humor and a sweet soul.  He was a son to Larry and Shel DuBose, a younger brother to Jessica DuBose and the identical twin to David DuBose.  Like a lot of Florida boys, he worked part time at Publix, liked getting into mischief, loved good music and the Florida Gators.

In 2006, Dallas was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  With no time to waste the family and the Univeristy of Florida Brain Tumor program went to work on healing Dallas.  Through surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, tests, scans and challenges you or I cannot fathom, Dallas never complained, not once even in his final days.  As his mother wrote, "Through it all, Dallas, as usual, takes it all in stride.....not one complaint has been uttered. What a remarkable young man he is.....how courageous and brave. He is the epitome of grace."

When Dallas was first diagnosed, he was given 3 months to a year to live, but defied diagnosis and as his sister, Jessica, stated, "although Dallas is gone from us now, I hope you all realize that he did in fact beat Timmy (tumor)...Dallas fought valiantly for nearly 3 years."

It was through Dallas' will to live, his family's support and faith, and the University of Florida Brain Tumor program that Dallas was able to make the last years of his life filled with more life then most ever know.

It is our hope that the Dallas DuBose Memorial Fund through it’s involvement with BTFC will help raise money so that we may offer direct financial relief to families of brain tumor patients. Our fund will help pay household expenses (i.e. mortgage/rent, utilities, phone, car payments) to families fighting this deadly disease. To begin with, we will focus on assisting those families being treated at the UF Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Shands (where Dallas was treated)and the surrounding North Florida area.   We are very excited to give back to those who gave so generously to us and to hopefully alleviate some of the stress associated with caring for a child with such a serious illness.

Thank you for visiting the Dallas DuBose Memorial Fund page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.

Dallas' spirit lives on in his family and those lucky enough to have known him.  By donating to our cause, you will continue his legacy.

Thank you so much for your support!

Shel, Jessie, Larry and David
