Once again Joseph will compete in the U.S. Transplant Games as a member of Team Alabama. As you know Joseph started dialysis  at age 14 months and received a kidney transplant at age 28 months which was just one of his 34 surgeries.  He is now 8 years old and one of the youngest members of Team Alabama.  This transplant has truly been a second chance at life for him and he rises to every challenge put before him.  To GOD be the glory great things HE has done!!!!!

 So with that spirit of competition we are Pittsburgh bound where he will be involved in the track and field events, swimming, bowling, cycling and 3 on 3 basketball as well as a 5K walk. In 2004 Joseph earned a gold medal in cycling and bowling and in 2006 he brought home the silver in bowling.

While the games are a fun time for the athletes and all who attend, it is also a chance to spotlight organ transplantion and the difference it can make in a family's life.  The games are also a time to honor the donor family's and living donors, for they are the ones who have paid the ultimate price.

Just a few short years ago I would have never imagined our lives being touched by organ  donation, yet here we are now.  And with over 92,000 names on the waiting list and more added everyday, chances are you or someone you love could be among those waiting.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, he is asking for you support in  whatever way you can give it.  He welcomes any donation large or small.  He would also welcome your emails and notes cheering him on as he prepares for the Games in July.
