Even Puppies Need Basset Rescue!
You may think that only old and neglected bassets are turned into basset rescue. NOT TRUE!
My sister, Andi, and I went to our first home when we were 8 weeks old. Our home was very busy...lots of kids coming and going, other dogs, and our mom was hardly ever home. Andi and I would love to play and bark. We wanted lots of attention, but no one was ever around. After 5 months in our home, Andi and I were taken away. We went on a long car ride, then Andi got into another car and drove off. Where was she going, where was I going?
I went to a new home that had 2 other basssets and 2 cats. They tried to find me a new home, but all of them said "no". Who wouldn't want a puppy? Who could resist this face? In the meantime, I was on my best behavior, I played nice with the other bassets and I even tried to make friends with the cats. After 2 weeks, my foster family fell for me and couldn't let me go. I was here to stay!!
After the papers were signed and I settled into my new home, I learned the art of shredding slippers, chewing leather shoes and I have even mastered pulling the wire out of mom's bras. Some people forget how much work puppies are. We need lots of training, attention, and patience. We have lots of energy and love to get into everything.
So see, basset rescue isn't only for the old bassets, puppies need basset rescue too.
Please consider donating to my page so that ABC Basset Rescue can continue to help every basset, regardless of our age.
Love and lots of sloppy basset kisses,
Diesel Gordon
