Save Gabe!
During an adoption at our Ten Lives Club Hamburg shelter late on a Saturday afternoon, we noticed one of the cats trembling on the floor before us, we notice something was seriously wrong.
We rushed Gabe, a 10 month old black and white kitten, into the emergency room. Gabe was running a fever and in severe pain. Somehow, he had dislocated his hip bone. The vet thought he may have been born like this or hurt somehow before he came to TLC and he may have dislocated the joint by a fast move.
Poor Gabe was trembling in pain with his lips chattering from the pain. He was looking up at us to help him with his big eyes. He was immediately put on pain medication and put under to see if they could manipulate the bone back into place. It was a temporary fix, he had to have very expensive surgery to repair his fractured femor/hip joint.
Gabe is now recovering at a foster home, he is bright, alert and very talkative, probably saying, " Thank you for helping me!"
Gabes surgery, emergency vist, and follow up care cost TLC $2,000. We have started a "Gabe Fund" to help TLC pay for Gabe's vet care. TLC was there for Gabe and saved him from further pain. Please help us to continue what we do best, saving the lives of our cats.
