The Playground Project
Hi! We need your help. A small group of friends have started raising money to build a playground at Crisis Ministries, Charleston's homeless shelter. Did you know that each night there are about 50 homeless women and children at the shelter? It is very sad and we need to build a playground so they can have a place to have fun and laugh and play.
We kicked off our "Playground Project" by selling goodies and lemonade and helping around the house - then we added cool fundraising webpages - we've already raised close to $5000!
In August 2007, the shelter started building a new house called the Transitional Living Center (TLC) for homeless families. Right next to it, is the big space where a playground should go. Many families will stay for a short time in this house, and it will be a place where they can heal, stabilize and work towards regaining a home of their own. But, we need $15,000 and we know that together, we can make this happen!
You can learn more about everything the shelter provides at www.charlestonhomeless.org.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Just by clicking on the "GIVE NOW" button, your donation will go to Crisis Ministries and it will go straight to the Playground Project, then we will receive notification. Please send this link to all your family and friends and help us get to our goal! If you want to start a page of your own or just want to ask any questions, email: cpilley@bellsouth.net.
Thank you so much for your support! You are awesome!
Love,
Abby, Clara, Emily, Ellie & Sophie
