Sheri Remington's Fundraising Page
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I'm on a mission to raise funds for a wonderful organization called FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered.
Until cancer touched my life I had never even heard of genetic testing for BRCA or FORCE. Each day I am shocked at the number of people I meet who still don’t know that such a gene exists including some medical professionals.
Those who are affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer gene mutations (BRCA 1 & BRCA 2) are at risk for both ovarian and breast cancer. While only 10% of breast cancer is hereditary, those 10% of people are at very high risk for both diseases.
FORCE is a fabulous organization. They operate on a very small budget, but FORCE is making a huge difference in thousands of lives.
I lost my mom in March of this year at age 64 to breast cancer. I had just been diagnosed a few months earlier December 2008 at age 46 myself. It’s been a tough year to say the least but the FORCE group has been there for me.
Please help support FORCE by placing a small donation.
Thank you for your support!
