I sincerely appreciate any amount you can give to help make this trip possible (even if, in these tough times, that simply means you wishing me well on my trip).
As some of you know, in November 2008 I went to Cambodia with Heart Touch to work with orphans who are HIV+, as well as adults who were hospitalized with TB, HIV and other diseases. It was an amazing experience and I am thrilled to have been chosen to provide compassionate touch to the men, women and children in the AIMS hospital in Kerala, India (http://www.aimshospital.org) this year. We will be there December 2010 - January 2011 and will work throughout the hospital, in the pain and palliative care and also the lower income areas of the hospital. The hospital does not turn away any patients so there are many people who are from the lower caste and very poor.

As part of the outreach efforts, each volunteer is required to do fundraising for the cost of their trip. Your donation will be used directly to help me work with those in need of our compassionate touch services. But whether I reach my fundraising goal or not, I am completely committed to making this trip, so I will pay the difference. So rest assured, your donation will absolutely be put to good use! And I do plan on updating my blog while in India so that you can witness what you are helping to make happen as it happens.
Your donation is tax deductible. It goes to The Heart Touch Project and to my personal account with them which will enable me to visit and bring compassionate touch to patients at the AIMS Hospital in India.
