YMCA Southeastern High School Model United Nations
As our alumni know, participation in Model United Nations changes a student's perspective on the world. Model UN students learn about faraway places and issues that matter but don't always grab headlines. Students learn how to compromise and work together to solve problems that sometimes seem unsolvable. These are skills and perspectives that matter, not just during the Conference, but for years beyond.
But there are real costs to putting on this program. As these costs grow, we are in danger of having to raise our delegate fees and "pricing out" great delgates who want to participate and learn. We have had to cut scholarships for deserving delegates this year. Even more critically, the costs of the All-Star Delegation trip to the National High School Model United Nations kept us from being able to take that trip last year. NHSMUN has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for so many of our alumni, and it has put Chattanooga on the global map as our delegations have won worldwide recognition and awards on several occasions.
Every little bit helps. Whether you are able to donate $10 or $1000, your contribution will go directly toward expanding participation and lowering delegate costs.
And after you donate, please help us spread the word. Like a ripple in a pond, your endorsement of the importance of Model UN matters to your friends and family. Let's meet our goal for SHSMUN 2011!
