The American Red Cross has touched so many people's lives. Not only strangers but many that I know and love. WHen my grandmother had cancer and a radical masectomy, it was blood donated from the ARC that the hospital used. It was the Red Cross that helped her get in touch with my Uncle who was in the Army and deployed in the field at the time she received the diagnosis. The Red Cross helped coordinate his return home. My father, a disabled vet, has also had experience working with the Red Cross which is why he encouraged me to participate in the Queen of Hearts program. The Red Cross has done so much for my family and my community and it is time that I give something back!
