I hope I can adequately describe how I feel about Goals for Life.  It has all the ingredients that I like in a fundraising organization:  grassroots, founded by strong women, focused on local needs, apolitical...

I started playing in its tournament 10 years ago for fun.  The first Saturday in June quickly became the highlight of my summer.   It's hard to top a day spent with girlfriends in the sunshine, playing hard, with positive energy all around.  The money we raised was almost an afterthought. 

Now, as a board member, I see the impact of the money we raise.  We get to hear and see the stories of women who get help when they need it most.  A mammogram, life-saving treatment, a weekend retreat with other patients and survivors, yoga classes designed just for breast cancer patients, the advice of a skilled social worker on the other end of the phone, all at no cost to them.  Now, for me, the tournament is so much more than playing a game.
