Welcome to my Boston 'Run-to-remember' fundraising homepage!
As many of you may know, I am training for the Boston Half Marathon, scheduled for May 24th, 2009. Along with my training effort, I also hope to raise money for the Hope Fund for Sarcoma research, as a part of the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
Sarcomas are a rare kind of cancers arising from the tissues, muscles, blood & lymph vessels, bones, cartilage etc. They comprise 3% of all cancers in adults and 7% of cancers in children. A close friend of mine is one of many such people battling this disease, and this small effort towards making a difference goes out to him.
My personal goal is to raise $1965, or a 150$ for ever mile that I run. Even the smallest contribution will go a long way in reaching the ultimate finish line-- finding a cure!
A lot of companies will match all or a part of your contributions, so please make sure you avail of the opportunity.
