9th Annual Imagine Walk and Family Fun Day for Autism
Happy 2011 everyone!
The walk date has been changed this year to April 10, 2011, about 2 weeks earlier than usual. Hopefully we'll see a lot of you there again this year. We had the heat in 2009 and lots of rain in 2010, so 2011 is bound to be a perfect day! We will be wearing purple this year, so please let me know your size t-shirt if you'll be attending.
The numbers for Autism are still way too high and funding for research is still way too low. In addition, state funding reductions and Medicare cuts will further limit the services available to Brandon and kids like him. Obtaining services through organizations such as the Autism Project are still an option but still require funds outside of those covered by insurance policies.
Any donations collected stay here in RI and go to help the organization provide services to kids and families affected with ASD. They also provide training for the professionals that work with these kids at home and in school.
Most importantly, we'd love to see you the day of the walk. It's a fun day and excuse to get together with family and friends!
Again if you would like to raise funds at school, work, etc. for our team or have any questions about the walk or donations, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
