I am raising money in memory of my mom, Margarete Massak. She fought a hard fight with Ovarian Cancer. She loved life, her work as a hairdresser, and most of all loved me everyday of her life! She was funny, generous and loved her friends. She always had to be in two places at the same time. She didn't want to miss anything. She made me who I am! I miss her dearly everyday! Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death among gynecologic cancers. In over 75% of cases, it is not detected until it has already progressed to an advanced stage. This year alone, about 22,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and over 15,000 women will die. Research can help change these statistics - to decrease the delay in detection and increase survival rates.
