On Saturday, October 13th I will be rappelling 35 stories down the side of the VUE building (pic on the right) in downtown Charlotte!

Why, you may ask?

This year is the 2nd Annual Over the Edge Charlotte event to raise funds for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). Participants must raise $1000 each for SONC in order to reserve a rappel slot for the event.

 As a part of our company's yearly community involvement activities, myself and a fellow Zachry Charlotte employee (Josh - http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/joshbondarchuk/otecharlotte) were selected to represent the Zachry office in this event. We will each be raising $1000 for this organization, and in return, we'll get to have the experience of a lifetime!

Why not just donate money, you may ask?

Well, I've got this thing called a Bucket List. I've already done some big things (skydiving - check, diving with great white sharks - check), so when the opportunity for this event came up, I had to jump at the chance! Where else will you get the chance to rappel off a downtown skyscraper AND raise money for a great organization?
