Greetings!
We are now at 11 weeks into "training" for the Marathon, and so far so good! As part of the program, I will be walking/running for an honor patient at the Phoenix Childrens Hospital. My honor patient has been changed as of today, for those of you who have been checking in.
I have been matched with Kiarrah! My inspiration, a patient of PCH in whose honor I will be running. She is 2 years old and was diagnosed with Premature - Tracheostomy in 2005& Achondroplasia at birth. Here is her story given to my by her parent/PCH: Hello my name is Kiarrah. I’m 2 years of age and I have a tracheostomy known as Trach. I was diagnosed with Tracheostomy in Dec 2005. And also I’m a achondroplasia Draw F. Most of my life I have been in and out of the hospital. I have had three surgeries before I turned 2 years old. My recent surgery was shunt placement. But through it all I thank God that I’m still here and stronger than ever. I also thank God for my mom who had been with me from day one as she also has achondroplasia Drawism because of her I’m strong and healthy. And I thank her. Also I have the best doctor’s at PCH, trach and airway team.
I will try to get a picture of her, as it's been difficult to get to meet her. I will continue to keep you posted on my training progress, so that we can all share the story of this amazing event together. I hope to meet Kiarrah soon! Unfortunately we were not able to meet at the MIM Kick off Party.. I will let everyone know more about her and TRY to post pictures!
I hope you will join me in raising money for
