Hi Friends!
The first thing people typically notice about me is the volume of my voice.....the second thing is my long, curly hair. In fact, my hair has only been cut twice, the first time when I took scissors into my own hands. The second being when my mom took me to the salon to fix my cut.
The purpose of this website is two-fold. On June 23 I will be cutting 10 inches of my hair to donate to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Please visit them at http://www.locksoflove.org to learn more.
The second purpose is to help raise money for pediatric cancer. My cousin, Nicholas, was diagnosed with AML when he was seven months old. They traded in the comfort of his crib, toys, playdates and reaching milestones for six months of living at Children’s Hospital Boston. Thanks to advancements in research, and the compassionate care and expert treatment my cousin received, today Nicholas is cancer-free and is approaching his 5 year remission anniversary! This life-changing experience inspired his parents to start a foundation that would make life better for children and their families living with cancer and would help put an end to this terrible disease. One Mission is based in Massachusetts and serves the needs of pediatric cancer patients and their families living in the greater New England area. http://www.onemission.org
All proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital Boston and the vital programs and life-saving research they provide to help kids beat cancer.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
xoxo,
Sophia "Coco" Peck
