Hello!  

Being selected as a member of Team U.S.A. feels good!  We will be going to the 2007 World Games in Shanghai, China, and I am looking forward to competing with athletes from all over the world.  

I have been in Special Olympics for the past 6 years, and I have made many friends in that time — too many to list their names.  (Because I am active in many sports, there are lots of people who know me!) I look forward to seeing them again every year.  We train together and compete together, but we also like to have fun.  I like to go to the movies and eat popcorn!   

My favorite memory about Special Olympics is going to the movies during Winter Games.  There was this scary sea-lion that jumped out at us.  My coach was sitting in front of me, and I jumped so high I almost gave the coach whiplash!   

Being in Special Olympics has given me high self-esteem and the confidence to try new things.  And now I’m going to China to represent my country at the 2007 World Games!
