Woofstock 2011
Hello everyone,
It's that time of year again. Woofstock is just around the corner. I don't ask much from my family and friends, this might be about the only thing that I do bug you about. But EVERY dollar helps so whatever you can donate to my page to help me reach my goal will be greatly appreciated!
This year was a challenging one for NEBHR. We had many sick and injured dogs that came to us and of course sick and injured equals lots of medical expenses. In the 5+ years that I've been with the rescue this year was a new record for ear ablation surgeries. We had at least 4 dogs that required this surgery.
Ear ablation surgery is when the dogs ears are so badly infected that the inner ear needs to be removed because the tissue is pretty much rotted. These dogs come to us in incredible pain and this surgery is the only thing that helps them at that point. So althoug the dog becomes mostly deaf after the surgery the pain and suffering is gone! As you can expect, these surgeries are not cheap and has set our medical budget back quite a bit.
Again whatever you can spare to help out the homeless bassets of New England is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you all,
Stacey Carver
President of NEBHR
