Congratulations to all of the runners! All that trained for the big day successfully accomplished their goals. It was truly amazing to see everyone pull together for this run. The turnout of spectators to cheer on Team Lutz was great. Personally it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever gone through. One would never imagine the emotions that go through one person during 13 miles. I cried, laughed, hurt, smiled, had chills and most importantly was with Tim. My dream would have been there running next to me, but since I couldn't have that I had his spirits with me the whole time. He carried me and I could really feel his angel wings on mile 12! I can't think everyone enough how much their support has meant to me and the family. Mom and Dad thank you for being there with me the whole time you guys are the best. So glad you could me at the finish line to cheer us on.
So many of you know and have been touched by Tim! On February 12, 2009 all of our lives were changed when Tim was taken away from us. There is not a minute that goes by that we don't think of him. He was an inspiration to so many of us. My big brother always told me how great running was, and I am finally listening to him. I am currently training for my first half marathon with many others! It is amazing how many people have been recruited to run in his honor and memory. Tim would be so proud of all of us for attempting to run 13.1 miles. For those that are not ready to take the the big challenge, we need you at the finish line cheering us on! Hoping to see many smiling faces at the Columbus Marathon on October 18, 2009. If you need more information on the run please email me at staclutz@yahoo.com.
Please help me raise money to help support the Wilson's Disease Association. We need more physicans to be aware of this rare genetic disease so they can help treat the patients before its too late.
7/26/09: The Sakai/Lutz wasn't the same without Tim. He was in all of our thoughts and prayers and we missed his smiling face and his pranks. Thank you to all who pulled together to really kick off the start of the fundraiser. We raised over $500 last night all to your generosity. It was great to see everyone and to be able to thank you in person for all of your support for our family during these tough times.
8-1-09: Amber and I ran a 10k today as part of our training. Amber's friend joined s and I was telling her about our fundraiser for Tim and all of the money we have raised all ready. I got the chills as I crossed the finish line today knowing those weren't even close to the way I will be feeling on the big day. Thanks for all of the donations that are coming in this, I keep calling mom and dad to tell them how generous everyone is. Mom and Dad thank you for your very generious donation, you guys are great:) We were blessed to have such wonderful parents and I am so lucky to have you there with me as we go through these hard times.
8-18-09: After having a hard time with today being my birthday and Tim not being here to make fun of me for being old, I was amazed when I logged in to this website to see that the last goal I had set was exceeded! I really thought $4,000 was going to be highest goal I was going to have to set. Thank you for all of those that are donating, it means so much to the family and I. Today I will need to do an extra long run for my buddy! We are so blessed to have all of your support!
9-19-09: The start of football season has not been the same, I don't have my best friend to text the whole game or my buddy down here playing cornhole and tailgating. He is in my mind during each and every Ohio football game. Last weekend I really thought he was going to help those Buckeyes pull it out, at least he helped them make it a good game. My favorite season to spend with Tim was always the fall, we always found lots of fun things to do together and it has been hard not having him for it. Luckily we are in the heat of training and that is helping me get through the times. Today we will be running 12 miles, and those 12 miles I will be thinking about Tim the whole time and will need him to help me get through it. Your support and prayers are needed and appreciated during the tough times. Looking forward to seeing so many of you in one month for the big run!
10-14-09 As the days before the big day are slowing closing in, I think we are all ready for our big challenge on Sunday. Each morning I wake up to check the weather, and wonder if Tim will help give us a 60 degree sunny day! As I miss Tim more and more everyday I always remember why I have sore calves and that is because he is helping me with my first running challenge.
I went ahead and raised my goal one more time today, after I had exceeded my last goal by over $800 I decided to bump it to $6,000. I have a great feeling that we will be able to gather $200 more in the next week!
Thanks again for all of the support, this week I have started sharing my story with more collegues as I am finally starting to get to know them at a more personal level, and they are all inspired that Tim has inspired so many to run! Looking forward to seeing many of you on Sunday for the big day!
