Sarah and Claire's Fundraising Page
Dear friends:
My Mom said I had to go Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and get my bones checked out. That is not cool at all. She said I would miss school and the Wheel-A-Thon would be cancelled.
Then I had an idea. Instead of "home" school, why not "travel" school. I looked on a map and found out that we would go through 9 states from Tampa to St. Paul. We could still have teams raise money and take the Wheel-A-Thon on the road.
All the money donated will help LaVoy Exceptional Center have a better play area. Their playground is crappy (don't tell my Mom I wrote that!) All the students at LaVoy have disabilities but that doesn't mean they don't like to play and have fun experiences in nature. I love to play with my sister, Claire, at Freedom Playground and it's not fair that students at LaVoy can't play together in a nice place.
We are going to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (July 26, 1990) by travelling approx. 1,990 miles to St. Paul. I'll be telling people about universal design and interesting places on our way.
Thanks for your help,
Sarah and Claire
