Stepping Out To Cure Scleroderma 2011 - Ridgefield Park
Hi Friends and Family,
Now that Spring has finally arrived it is time, once again, to plan for the annual Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walk. As most of you know, my sister was diagnosed with Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease, in 2003. Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive disease. It causes thickening and tightening of skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart, kidneys, esophagus, and gastrointestinal tract. For some, scleroderma can be life-threatening due to the severity of organ involvement. To date, there is no known cause or cure.
During the past year my sister's scleroderma has been more-or-less stable. I am extremely thankful for this and continue to be grateful to her many doctors who monitor her continuously. In addiiton, I am grateful to all of you who have supported me over the past 8 years as I hope and pray for a cure.
I'd like to once again ask for your assistance in sponsoring me in The Walk to Cure Scleroderma. Any amount that you can give will be greatly appreciated! Making a donation is quick and easy. You can donate online simply by clicking on the "donate" button below, or by sending a check to me at: 15 Rolling Knolls Dr., Middletown, NJ 07748. Checks can be made payable to SF Tri-State. Of course, both methods are tax deductible.
This year's walk will be held on Sunday, June 5th at 9:00 AM. Me and my sister's team will once again be walking in Leonia, NJ and anyone can join us. I hope you can help me again in raising money to promote awareness of and to find a cure for this often unheard of disease. Thank you again!!
Love----Stephanie
