Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) is the largest private philanthropy in the United States dedicated exclusively to funding ovarian cancer research. Our mission is to fund scientific research that leads to more effective identification, treatment, and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our investigators are developing innovative strategies for early detection; exploring the genetics that increase risk for ovarian cancer; understanding the underlying molecular biology of the disease; identifying new and better targets for treatment; and deciphering how and why ovarian cancer spreads, and how to stop it.
Founded in December 1994 in memory of Ann Schreiber, The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Inc. (OCRF) is one of the only agencies of its kind, dedicated to funding cutting-edge research to end this disease which takes the lives of 14,500 American women annually. We believe that future advances in ovarian cancer research lie in the hands of today's young researchers. It is for this reason that OCRF's main funding priority has been advancing outstanding researchers early in their careers, whose projects focus on early detection, screening and basic translational research. Through our Scientific Advisory Committee, OCRF funds exceptional investigators across the country. As we strive to find a cure, we to raise awareness through our many educational programs and special events.
