HOPE IS ALIVE, and you can see it through the eyes of our child.  Braden is a thriving two year old, despite having a congenital heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  Watching Braden today, you would see that HLHS does not define him, but gives the him the courage, determination, and strength to endure the path God chose for him. 

Braden has undergone two open-heart surgeries in his life (at 6 days old & 3 months of age), and will endure one more next summer.   Without the amazing CHW medical staff, their expertise and skill, we're not sure Braden would be the thriving toddler he is today.  For that, our gratitude is infinite! 

On September 20th, our team, Braden's Heart of Gold, will be walking and running in honor and memory of every child who has and will walk through the doors of CHW.  Your contribution will continue to allow CHW to offer the best care to children of all ages.  Everything donated will go directly to the hospital.  This year's donations will benefit the new west tower addition set to open in the spring of 2009.  This is where Braden will be set to stay during his next open heart surgery recovery.
