I am dedicating my 22nd marathon effort at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Oct 11th to Ray Essig Sr,Ray Essig Jr, Cindy Essig Haab, Shirley Essig Winston,Susan Winston,Wilfrid Essig...uncles,aunts & cousins,all who died of Huntingtons. 

   This is a devasting hereditary disease and is on my father's side of the Essig Family. Huntingtons generally does not manifest itself until well into adult years, it's possible that the gene has been passed before one knows they are a carrier. Today there is a test that can be taken to determine if one is a carrier. Yet, there is still no cure. Great work is happening in San Diego at ISIS Pharmaceuticals and UCSD Medical Center.
