To Our Family and Friends,
Oh, how we miss Kathy, our sister, daughter, mother, aunt and friend. It remains difficult to understand how someone who could add so much life to a group and generate so many bright smiles around her could have experienced a period of such desperation and pain that she ended her own life.
Even though she has been gone for more than 20 years, the sound of her laugh still plays in our memories when we think of her. Kathy opened our eyes and opened new doors, from her dating of the ringmaster from Bozo the Clown, to being one of the first females to attend
Boston
College
and her early involvement with the founders of Our Bodies Our Selves, to her sharing the joy of
Sesame Street
with her daughters. She helped those who knew her think that they could soar high and go far, and she often gave of herself to help those around her.
We wish that we could be gathering as a family to celebrate Kathy's 60th birthday this year. Instead, in memory of Kathy, her mother (and father in spirit), sisters and brothers, daughters and grandchildren, nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews will gather on September 29th, to walk/run at this years Running for Someone Else's Life, in support of Samaritans (www.samaritanshope.org).
Samaritans provide befriending counseling for suicidal individuals and support to people who have lost a loved one to suicide. Their efforts have a profoundly positive impact on the lives of many and directly save lives, as evidenced by the many cards, notes, and calls of gratitude from those who have bridged their most desperate moments and are moving on toward brighter futures. Please help us to take a step toward saving someone else's life, and help us remember Kathy with your support.
All our best,
The Mongeau Clan
