I am writing you today to share with you, your families and friends the news about The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition’s (TAASC) 9th Annual Ski-A-Thon which was held on February 2nd at Snow Trails Ski resort.
If you where unable attend, you can still participate by sponsoring us and support this incredibly worthwhile cause. This years event had 250 plus people attend and we conducted around 30 adaptive ski lessons during the day! (TAASC teaches/provides weekly adaptive ski opportunities from December through March at 2 local ski areas).
Thank you to all of you who supported this event and have helped us raise over $12,000. to date!

TAASC is a non-profit organization established in
Ohio in 1997. The mission of TAASC is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities (physical and developmental) by providing sports and recreational activities, and to offer opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership, and training, in collaboration with community-based organizations. Our programs include snow skiing, water skiing, kayaking, cycling, ice-skating, sled hockey and sailing.
Adaptive and Adventure are the two key descriptive words to understanding what TAASC is all about. We adapt standard sporting equipment to meet the needs of each participant. By doing so we give each participant the opportunity to experience the Adventure that you and I all too often take for granted. I have seen first hand the sense of accomplishment these individuals experience in being able to break barriers and taste the thrill of sport. The Ski-A-Thon is one of our primary fundraisers and permits this 100% volunteer lead organization to purchase equipment and conduct programs for our participants. Please mark your calendar for February 7th, 2009! Should you have any questions please give me a call at 614 940-1295.
