THANK YOU, TO ALL WHO DONATED - Made it to my goal +Safely to the ground !!  Three months of fundraising, 7 windy minutes to hop on down (11:30a.m. 11-2-12).

I will post alot of the pix, the helmet cam DVD, and a video from down below as soon as I have all the tech collected and can find the best method to distribute.  Thanks OB-Philadelphia - it was a great day.

Hello folks and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  As an Outward Bound alum from A WAYS back (think late 70's-early 80's), I was recently presented the opportunity to support Outward Bound Philadelphia by participating in the BUILDING ADVENTURE 2012.  The short version >  if I raise upwards of $2000 for OB-Philadelphia, on November 2nd I will be rappelling off of a center city skyscraper,  "Over The Edge" at 1515 Market Street, Tower Plaza 3 in downtown Philadelphia.

The funds raised will go to support inner city youth, and provide them with an opportunity to experience Outward Bound and perhaps overcome many of the inherent barriers that impact young people that come from neighborhoods where poverty and crime rates are high, and workforce and education opportunities are poor.  In 1941, progressive educator Kurt Hahn developed Outward Bound with the goals to provide young people with the strength of character, leadership skills, and tenacity necessary to survive the rigors of war-torn Britain. Hahn's experiential educational model and philosophies continue as the foundation of Outward Bound throughout the world, and right here in Philadelphia.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. I hope you choose to contribute, as I look forward to going over the edge for a great cause.

This endeavor - or act of "looks like fun" - has gained the support of Temple Institutional Advancement and the 'TEMPLE MADE' campaign. Face paint on the horizon ???

AND - Just got my slot time for the Rappel ...  11:50a.m. (fri. 11/2/12) 1515 Market Street, guessing that time works well for lunch and beverages. Tailgate is on you.

after party started at 12:05 - Thanks everyone who made the jaunt and joined the festivities.

Many thanks for your support -- and be sure to forward this on to a friend, or others who work with young folks, or the 'out-doorsey' types you may know.  Fun stuff.
