First off, if you have taken the time to check out my fundraising page, Thanks!!
The Tour d'Afrique is one of the most stunning endeavours you will hear of. Thanks to the vision of Henry Gold, founder of the organisation and the race of this name, there have been seven successful expeditions to date, cycling down the African Continent from Cairo to Capetown... I am about to join the eighth!!
I encourage to check out the details of this race first hand at www.tourdafrique.com/
I anticipate this trip to be defining event in my life, and expect to take away a lot from it. At the same time, though, it provides that great opportunity everyone is looking for to give something back. For this reason I have chosen to raise money for WaterAid.
I have supported WaterAid for little while, since before this hair-brained scheme to rid across the continent had even formed in my mind. But I believe it is a perfect partnership, especially given I will spend most the race thirsting after a drop of clean, sweet water.
Jokes aside, I chose to support WaterAid because it concerns itself with providing a clean water supply to african people that is locally sustainable, which is a priority for any aid effort in this continent. If this interests you, please take the time to check out the website www.wateraid.org/
So, whether you want to support me, support the great work of WaterAid, or simply have appreciated that drink of water at the end of a long ride, please take the opportunity to help out, and forward the link on to anyone else who might like to.
Thanks for your support, and for those interested, I will be updating progress of the ride through my Facebook account, and my travel blog. Cheers.
(Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts)
