Hi Everyone,

I wanted to personally thank you for your extremely generous donations to the Miles for Melanoma Walkathon.  Your beautiful comments and prayers are very inspiring and has helped me though this difficult time.  I read them often.  I am so blessed to have so many loving family members and friends supporting me and my family.  I wish I could of joined all of you at the walk, but I heard it was a perfect day.  Keep praying!  Know that all of your families are in my prayers.  I know with your help we are going to find a cure for Melanoma.  I love you all - Sue, I am so lucky to have you by my side!

MRF research grants:

A Junior award (Career Development Grant) is given to investigators who are beginning a research career emphasizing melanoma-related projects and have not yet established strong federal funding. Up to $50,000 per year, for two years, may be provided.

A Senior awards (Established Investigator Grant) is given to established melanoma researchers working in closely related fields who wish to move into melanoma research. Up to $100,000 per year, for two years, may be provided.

The process of learning about my friend Landa's disease and treatment raised my awareness of the deadly nature of the disease and the limited options for patients. Some of the most common therapies for melanoma are quite old technology, helping only a limited percentage of patients, and have terrible side effects. There are many promising new therapies in trial and in the lab, but they require research dollars to come to fruition.

The Melanoma Research Foundation is the foremost organization providing support to melanoma researchers in the U.S. and your dollars will go to help.
