Have you ever wanted to help with something but didn't know how?  Didn't think you had time? Didn't think you could afford to, or that the donation you could afford wouldn't make a difference? 

Well Greyhound Support in Kansas City needs your help! What you can do will only take a minute.  Every dollar WILL make a difference and you can join others across the country to make a Huge difference in the lives of 56 retired greyhounds (29 of them are seniors)!

It costs Greyhound Support in Kansas City $6000 to conduct a haul.  Last year they moved 727 greyhounds off tracks and farms and into Adoption Groups on their way to their new homes.  They paid almost $60,000 in haul and medical expenses.  To pay for this they rely on ongoing auction fundraisers, letters sent to owners of the dogs moved asking for payment (about 50% send some money in), private donations from grants, foundations, and individual donors, and their annual picnic.

This year Greyhound Support in Kansas City had to cancel their annual picnic (their biggest single event fundraiser) because of lack of participation.  Times are tough, people are travelling less, are the reasons they are telling themselves. 

They hope and pray its not because people have stopped caring. God help the hounds if thats the case because Greyhound Support in KC won't be able to if they don't have the funds.

The challenge then is simple.  Show them you care.  Offer those dogs still waiting that there is hope.  Look at the pet(s) in your home and think of all those who are not so lucky.  YOU can change that.  YOU can help. 

If you can donate $1.00...a buck you will make a difference.  If you ask 9 friends to give $1.00 that makes $10.00 that will make a difference.
