7/28/08 THANK YOU for your support! We finished the 62 mile ride on dry roads with sunny skies! We lucked out and the rain, thunder &lightning ended before our race began at 8 a.m. We had a great time and felt great about completing the ride for Emmaus with the support of our friends and family behind us. I am planning on doing the ride again next year, shooting for the "Century" 100 miler instead of just 62. Would anyone consider joining me and training with me for next year?
7/23/08 WOW! I am overwhelmed with everyone's generosity! I am truly blessed with supportive friends and family. Next year maybe some of you will do the ride with me! I challenge you!
7/20/08: Dave, Cat & I finished a 51 mile training ride on Sunday, through the scenic streets of Plaistow, up to Danville, NH and back to Haverhill. I feel ready for 62 miles this Sunday!
Dave installed an odometer & toe-clips on my bike, to allow me to track my mileage and improve my speed! Taking advice from Dave & Cat, I bought bike shoes and padded bike shorts. (not a good look!) The new equipment definitely helped!
7/13/08:I am very excited about participating in my first official bike "ride". Thanks to encouragement from fellow runners & bikers Dave LaBrode and Cat Cargill, I ventured out on two long training rides, in an effort to do some cross training. I had so much fun finishing a 59 mile training ride one Sunday, I realized that I could complete the 62 mile course in the Cycle for Shelter and help raise money for this great cause. I am grateful for the roof over my head and decided to take action to support others who need some help.
Please support me in my first official "Ride" for the Cycle for Shelter and donate to Emmaus Inc.
