Sue Handchetz's Fundraising Page
On October 17th, Jake, Alexandra, McKenna and I will run with Team Sjogren's in the Pumpkin Stampede 5K to help raise awareness and funds for Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation. My sister, Laura, has Sjogren's Syndrome.
Sjogren's is a chronic autoimmune disease in which white blood cells attack and damage the moisture seeking glands in a person's body. All instances of Sjogren's are systemic, affecting the whole body. This causes a person's kidneys, gastrointestinal system, lungs, pancreas, liver and nervous system to become compromised or even shut down. Patients are also significantly more prone to lymphomas (cancer of the lymph gland).
Laura has tried all available treatment options with no success. We can only hope that one day soon a new treatment will become available to help her and others suffering from Sjogren's.
You can help.... by donating here or by joining Team Sjogren's on Oct 17th for the Pumpkin Stampede (more info below).
Thank you so much..for being aware...for donating...for joining the team. Every little bit counts!
Sincerely,
Sue
