Hello everyone, and welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Maya and I have decided to raise money for the Propionic Acidemia Foundation. This is an organization, which provides support to families with individuals who have been diagnosed with propionic acidemia and promotes research. As this disorder has had its impact on my family, I understand the challenges that other families face. Propionic Acidemia

Propionic Acidemia is a recessive genetic disorder that affects 1 in every 100,000 people in the United States. Individuals who are affected by this disorder have a nonfunctioning enzyme and therefore cannot break down certain proteins and fats. This leads to the build up of toxins and acids, which cause organ dysfunction.

5k  walk for PA  was held on August 14th, 2011 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos,  California. 83 people (friends and family) attended the walk and a total of $5,256 raised so far. I greatly appreciate everyone's support in helping me reach this goal!
