Windsor Half Marathon

Results are in!!

I ran the Windsor Half Marathon on 24th September 2006 in

1 hour 49 minutes 25 seconds

That's about 13 minutes faster than my last half marathon in May 2006 at Bracknell.

As some of you already know, Paul and I are running the Windsor Half Marathon on September 24th, 2006.  I had been thinking that it might be a good idea to run for a cancer charity and then I found this website while signing up for the Cancer Research UK 10K. I hope that you might give a donation for one or, better yet, both of these events.  You can donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation on this page and/or the Cancer Research UK charity by clicking on link below.

FYI- I chose the Lance Armstrong Foundation because it was given the highest rating by www.charitynavigator.com. It is also among the top rated charities by the American Institute of Philanthropy. You can read their Mission Statement below.

Lance Armstrong Foundation Mission Statement:

"The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) believes that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist, Lance Armstrong, the LAF provides the practical information and tools people living with cancer need to live strong. Our mission is to inspire and empower people with cancer to live strong. We serve our mission through education, advocacy, public health and research programs. LAF has spent more than $9.6 million granted toward cancer survivorship and testicular cancer research, more than $1.7 million invested in the development of five comprehensive cancer survivorship centers across the country, and nearly $1.6 million invested in survivorship education and outreach initiatives."
