Go Special Olympics Team North Carolina!

I am very excited and honored to have been selected to compete in singles and Unified doubles tennis at the first-ever Special Olympics National Games at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I’m very proud to represent North Carolina at the national level and have been training hard. I will be among 3,500 athletes from all 50 states and the District of Columbia who will showcase their athletic talent this summer, July 2-7.

Special Olympics athletes are never required to pay a fee to participate but it will cost approximately $2,000 to send me to Iowa.  I am asking for your support in helping to see my dreams come true.  Your donation to Special Olympics North Carolina will provide for vital items such as travel, uniforms and equipment.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.

Special Olympics competition and training have prepared me to represent my state.  I love competing and have been participating for almost 25 years!  I'm so excited to try to bring home gold medals in my singles, doubles, and Unified competitions. Unified tennis allows a person without intellectual disabilities of similar talent level to me to partner and compete with me on the court.  My partner Sandra Boyette and I are ready to win!
