2008 Penguin Plunge!
Update:
We did it! The temperature was 20* with 12 mph winds and the water was 38*. It took me a full 24 hours to dethaw, but I'm happy to say the blue lips and finger tips only lasted less than an hour. It helped to have Mom there feeding me Kelly's clam chowder. I'm glad I did it and although I don't know if I'll be game again next year, it was a great experience. Thanks again to everyone who donated!

So technically I'm participating in the Passion Plunge, but since I don't have a picture of me with a polar bear (or an appropriate image displaying "passion"), I decided to steal "Penguin Plunge" from Special Olympics New Hampshire. Regardless, on February 16th, I will be running into the ocean to support Special Olympics Massachusetts and all their wonderful programs.
Special Olympics athletes never pay a cent to participate in any of the 26 different sports offered, so we are raising critical dollars to fund the year-round sports training and athletic competitions for athletes in Massachusetts with intellectual disabilities.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
FYI: A shout out to the beautiful Katie Konrad for creating the nickname "suesicle" many years ago. Since I am essentially turning myself into a popsicle by participaing in this event, I thought it a fitting URL. :-)
