It's time for the 3rd Annual Run for Friendship, the biggest fund raiser of the year for The Friendship Club.  "Team Tom" continues to expand - we're an 8 person team now! We will be doing the 5K walk.

Most of you are aware of Susie's involvement with TFC.   We engage, educate and empower girls at risk. We do this with a year-round program of after school meetings, field trips, one-on-one mentoring, tutoring and homework help, as well as a jam-packed summer program that includes camping in the high sierra.  My favorite program is College Knowledge where, starting with the sixth graders, we expose the girls to the possibilities of post-high school education. This year we have girls wanting to look at schools in Santa Barbara and San Diego.   Currently we have FC grads attending University of Nevada Reno, Chico State, Notre Dame (Belmont), Cordon Bleu (Sacramento), and our local community college as well as others in surrounding communities.

I can proudly state that I am responsible for enriching many young lives on a daily basis, by donating time and treasure.  You can too:

• $50 can fund an educational field trip for ten girls
• $100 can fund an after school meal for 100 girls
• $500 can send four girls on a weekend trip to tour 3 colleges
• $5,300 will fund one girl for the entire year long program (if you are feeling very generous!)
