Greetings Friends,

On November 25, 2010 I am participating in the 20th Annual Turkey Trot in Austin, TX. 

I am running in my first 5 mile race as a celebration of Health and Family.  This has been the year for gaining health and reducing our weight.  Altogether our family has lost over 100 pounds with another 100 to go.  It's good to have a goal!

I'm dedicating this race and raising funds for a charity called Cherish Our Children International.  This is a charity begun by Juli Hall almost twenty years ago.  Juli is a personal friend and over the last twenty years COCI has changed the lives of children in Romania, Mexico, Russia, Israel and even Houston TX.  I visited the group in Houston a few months ago and was moved by the work being done to keep the children of incarcerated parents - out of the prison system.  This is almost unheard of.  The group is called No More Victims and they were a hidden cause that now has a voice.  I hope in some small way I can directly help those children and many others improve the quality of their lives.
