Dear Friends,

Since the earthquake in Port-au-Prince Haiti, the formation of tent cities, which house 20,000 to 30,000 people, has also led to a wide spread sexual violence epidemic. This problem is ravaging Haiti and thousands of women and children are the victims of rape on a daily basis. Ourl Boston Organization, yogaHOPE is partnering with an organization in Port-au-Prince called www.amurthaiti.org. Amurt is creating safe spaces for children and women and programming for women who's children have been the target of sexual violence and who themselves have suffered sexual violence.

yogaHOPE is training Haitian Community Leaders in a powerful integrated yoga and mindfulness based curriculum which is a powerful tool in trauma healing. 10 Americans have committed to raise $3500 toward the project and in return for their hard work they will have an opportuniy to come and train with the group! (expenses paid by them) Please take a moment to watch this inspiring video of yogaHOPE’s innaugural training in Haiti. In support of these individuals I am also raising money for this initiative.

100% of the money I raise will go to support this initiative. The individuals you see in these videos will receive their salaries from these funds so that they are able to deliver this program to women all over Haiti. The funding will continue to allow our trainers to work side by side with Haitian community leaders until they are ready to train individuals in this program themselves.  See here for a powerful video of one Haitian leader expressing how much he thinks the program will help survivors of sexual violence.
