Most of you know that I love to run, as often as I can. Last year, I ran my first full Marathon (PF Chang) in 16 years, and while training for it, I was able to raise over $ 1.800 for Phoenix Childrens hospital.

I was inspired by my honor patient, Zeke, and all the other kids that get help and care by Phoenix Childrens hospital.

This year, I will be running in honor of Emery, almost 11 years old. He was diagnosed with Congenital Heart DEfects VSD, Aortic Stenosis and Rhythm issues, when he was 2 days old. This brave young man has already had 4! open heart surgeries in his life. His mother sees Phoenix Children's Hospital as an extension of their home. Emery has had many long stays there over the last 10 years. Emery is in 4th grade today and loves playing baseball. His coach refers to him as the "heart" of the team. Emery's mother is not sure of the road ahead but she knows that the doctors and staff at Phoenix Children's hospital will be on it with them in the years ahead.

Rich really enjoys working for the hospital and he and his collegues in the Radiology department, and throughout the hospital, appreciates all the support that is given to the hospital  and their patients through these fundraising efforts
