Alexander's Angels mission is to engage in activities that provide public awareness of the needs and contributions of individuals with Down syndrome, and to promote scientific research, advocacy, education, and service to benefit the Down syndrome community by raising funds for its projects and for other local and national Down syndrome not-for-profit organizations. To achieve its charitable purposes, Alexanders Angels created DOWNrightART that organizes and sponsors art exhibits and other cultural programs to highlight abilities of individuals with Down syndrome; established The Up of Down: An Insight Into the World of Down Syndrome, a symposium to acquaint the general population with topics on Down syndrome; is the organizer of the annual Buddy Walk(R) in Long Island, an event established by the National Down Syndrome Society that takes place throughout the nation and abroad; and initiates special fundraisers to further awareness and support research on Down syndrome.
