I began working for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Athens County 2 1/2 years ago, and  met my Little Amber almost two years ago.

What we are doing in Athens County is important. Over 300 children are enrolled in one of our three programs, which primarily serve children who are struggling economically, socially, and academically in rural Appalachia. Our small staff strives to provide every child who enrolls in our programs with a caring and dedicated adult role model and friend who can help the child overcome obstacles, gain confidence, and have someone to talk openly and honestly with. Our annual budget is supported, primarily, through small donations from people who want to improve the way children are growing up in America. We need your help to continue helping families and kids in Athens and Vinton County.
