Hi All,
Yes, it's me again. Birding for Mass Audubon for the fifth year in a row in our crazy fun 24 hour Bird-a-Thon adventure. This year, I've combined Will's page with mine and we're bringing Ella along too! For those who know Ella, she'll be all about the pink birds! Will loves this event because he gets to go out with great birders and be part of the grown up team (and see some cool stuff. Last year his favorites were the bobolinks)
If you haven't ever received a request from me or Will regarding Bird-a-Thon, here's what it is all about. Bird-a-thon 2011 is a 24-hour birding event during which my team (Oak Knoll) will count as many Massachusetts bird species as we can, raise money for important conservation programs (Oak Knoll), have fun outdoors and compete for prizes (we want to be most improved)!
We really need your help. Bird-a-Thon is not only a fun event that I get to participate in, but the cool thing about it is that all money that is donated to Oak Knoll through Bird-a-Thon goes right back into supporting our public programs (like our owl prowls, and gardening workshops), our education work in local schools (we're in cities and towns all over Southeast Massachusetts having a blast teaching kids about everything from amphibians to xylem!), our events (like Spooktacular and Earth Day and Discovery Days), and most of all, just to be here to answer your questions, talk to visitors about our pollinator garden, or what a vernal pool is, or what kind of hawk might have just flown overhead.
How you can help... Please consider either joining our team, or making a fundraising page of your own to spread the word about the amazing work Mass Audubon does (seriously, just check out our website, conservation, renewable energy, education, advocacy, we're ON IT...www.massaudubon.org).
If neither of those options work for you, I would so appreciate your donation to our page. Every little bit helps so much (especially for a small sanctuary like ours)
Thanks so very much!!!! I look forward to seeing you on our team :)
P.S. If you've read this far, you will be rewarded. First five online donations get pumpkin dark chocolate chip cookies courtesy of me and my midnight baking habits.
