The Bridge Ministry is an outreach to the homeless of Nashville, TN, that was begun in 2004 by Candy Christmas. Six years later, the ministry has grown from a few volunteers and working out of Candy's garage, to over 100 volunteers and is housed in a 20,000sqft. warehouse! In 2009, the ministry also began to sponsor an orphanage in Haiti.
In the Summer of 2006, my life and ministry was forever changed after being lead by God to take part in the Bridge Ministry. Each week, we get to live out scripture by being the "hands and feet" of Christ!
I am walking the 2010 Country Music 1/2 Marathon to raise not only funds for this incredible ministry that has changed my life, but to also raise awareness of the increasing homeless population in Nashville. Together, we CAN make a difference!
After praying about this, I felt led to set a goal of $10,000. The Bridge Ministry has various operating expenses, including rent for the warehouse, maintenence of equipment, etc. But the biggest need is funding for food and supplies that we can pass along to our friends on the street, as well as helping out other ministries around the country AND world! If you can only give $1, that's awesome! If you can give $100, that's awesome! You might even consider giving just $1 per mile, which is just $13.20! Any amount is a blessing! And please tell your friends & family about this worthy cause and help us meet and even EXCEED our goal of $10,000!
Blessings,
Tara Jackson
